Taylor Spears
Research Intern
Taylor Spears is a fourth-year undergraduate at
the Barrett Honors College studying economics and science and technology
policy. During this past summer, Taylor worked at the White House Office
of Science and Technology Policy, working on nanotechnology,
communications, and innovation policy. Prior to joining CSPO, Taylor
worked in the university's Office of Sustainability Initiatives, helping
to develop interdisciplinary degree-granting institutions and research
organizations throughout the university.
Taylor's research focuses on understanding how policy can be used to
promote knowledge creation and diffusion among firms, universities,
laboratories, and other elements within innovation systems. Inspired by
his colleagues at CSPO and several classes he has taken on S&TS and
philosophy of science, he is also very interested in sociological and
philosophical issues surrounding the practice of economics as a
discipline.
