Science journalism is a key to good governance: "The work of science journalists needs greater recognition as an essential precondition for transparent, responsive and accountable government," writes David Dickson, former editor of Nature, on scidev.net.

 

The Pollster.com Disclosure Project: Mark Blumenthal of Pollster.com has called for all political polls to disclose the details of how they collect and weight polling data, especially with regard to "likely voter" models. This is an excellent example of the need for transparency in how the knowledge systems supporting policy decisions.

 



                


IMoSEB: Project Director Clark Miller took part in the North American consultation for the International Mechanism for Scientific Expertise on Biodiversity (IMoSEB) process in late January in Montreal, CA.
