Thad Miller

PhD Candidate, School of Sustainability, ASU

Thad is PhD student at ASU's new School of Sustainability and an IGERT in Urban Ecology Fellow. Before arriving in Arizona in the fall of 2006, Thad was a Research Analyst at The Climate Trust in Portland, Oregon where he focused on developments in state and federal climate policy.  Prior to that, he received his MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and his BA at Bucknell University in Environmental Studies and Economics.

Thad's interests lie at the intersection of science and policy studies and environmental philosophy. He is interested in how values affect the role of science in decision making. To that end, he has conducted research on the role of adaptation in climate policy and value debates over conservation and development in international conservation projects and policy.
