COURSE CONTENT:
Does your research involve
interviewing human subjects? Are you planning to conduct focus
groups? Are there things you always wanted to know about qualitative
research, but were afraid to ask? If so, then this class is for you.
BIO 494/591 a small, two-credit, permission-only, intensive seminar
on qualitative research methods, with a focus on biology and society
research. We meet Mondays and Wednesdays, 11:30am-1:30pm, until 7
March. We will address questions such as: what is qualitative
research? What are qualitative research methods? Are qualitative
research methods valid and rigorous? How should we choose research
methods and design research protocols? Students will be encouraged
to engage these questions in relation to their own research projects
or areas of research interest. For more information, please contact
Prof. Robert (jason.robert@asu.edu).
