Merlyna Lim
Distinguished Scholar of Technology and Public Engagement and Assistant Professor

 

Merlyna Lim is an assistant professor at the Consortium for Science, Policy & Outcomes and the School of Justice and Social Inquiry at Arizona State University.  Her research interests revolve around the political shaping and societal construction of technology, focusing on new media and information and communication technology (ICT). She conducts research on the mutual shaping of the Internet and and politics in non-Western contexts )especially in Southeast Asia), political dimensions of networked publics (online deliberation vs. mobilization), and the politics of space  (civic spaces, in particular) and globalization.  Merlyna Lim recieved her phD, with distinction, from the Technology and Development Group, University of Twente in September 2005.
