Anne Schneider came to ASU in 1989 as the College of Public Programs’ Dean and Professor in the School of Justice Studies. In 2004 she returned to the School as a professor and as an affiliated faculty with the Center for Urban Inquiry. She is from Oklahoma, having completed her undergraduate and master’s work at Oklahoma State University. Her PhD is in Political Science from Indiana University. Areas of interest are public policy, democratic theory, institutions and human agency, social construction and public policy, evaluation research, “use-inspired” research, social capital, citizenship, and juvenile/criminal justice. Courses taught include research methods, public policy analysis, justice and public policy, evaluation research, and juvenile justice. She continues to have a strong interest in women and politics, overcoming minority and gender disadvantage, restorative justice, empathy, citizenship and public service. She retired in 2010.
